Vintage PAPER-MACHE YULE LOG

From the 1940s - 1950s
I'm not sure of the age of this beautiful unique Christmas Yule Log.
It comes from a relative's Christmas collection.
I am guessing it to be from the 1940s or 1950s.

Made of Paper-Mache, it is painted gold and has gold sparkle glitter with a couple of old tiny dried up pine cones painted gold as trim.
Approximately 13" inches long - 4" inches high
It holds 3 candles. I put the 3 brand new red tapered candles in it just to see how it will look.

Should I keep it or should I give it away ?

  1. I love this. It looks great!
In Sweden we also have a candle holder with four candles and we light a new candle each advent.

  2. I think it would make a nice addition to a centerpiece. With some fresh evergreen boughs and pine cones around it.

Thank you for posting on my blog.
    So nice to meet you.

  3. Sentimentally, you gotta keep it! It has history and character. And what a great conversation piece....

BTW---I read your profile where you say you live in Texas but really would love to get back to the southeast. Us, too! If we can EVER sell our house in Plano, we plan on moving to the Knoxville, TN area.
