Downtown San Antonio Cattle Drive!

Approximately 38,000 people turned out to watch this morning as eight drovers wrestled about 30 Texas Longhorns through the streets in the heart of historic downtown San Antonio.

Each year the cattle drive serves as the kickoff for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo which will begin this coming Thursday.    Yee Haw  !

  1. We don't have long-horn cattle where I live. Our cattle are usually short, black and stocky. I think your long-horns are quite beautiful.

I like rodeos. I used to live in Alberta and go to the Calgary Stampede. I haven't been to the small ones here though. I hope you have a great time!

  4. Wow! I had no idea they did this in San Antonio. Very interesting. :) I went to my very first writer's conference in San Antonio almost 40 years ago. If I'm not mistaken it coincided with the Fiesta of Flowers thing they have there. I remember a parade. The conference was at the old Gunter hotel. My short story won an honorable mention. I had SO much fun!
